LEXCAMPUS BUILDING IP CAPACITY SINCE 2016

Intelligence is becoming abundant. Judgment is not.

AI is collapsing the cost of IP work — searching, drafting, filing, analysing. What it cannot supply is the judgment institutions answer for. LexCampus builds that judgment: in companies, universities, patent offices, defence establishments and the legal establishment.

Our courses now belong to everyone.

From 2016, LexCampus trained patent professionals one cohort at a time. That teaching now runs permanently on NPTEL and SWAYAM — free to audit, self-paced, open through the year, with transcripts in multiple languages. More than 1,40,000 learners have enrolled. LexCampus no longer offers courses of its own; the classroom has moved to the nation’s platform, and our work has moved to where the need now is — the institution.

Execution is becoming abundant. Judgment stays scarce.

Every patent doctrine prices a scarcity, and the scarcity beneath the system — of ingenuity, of execution, of intelligence about the landscape — is dissolving. What remains scarce is human: the judgment to choose, to translate, to examine, to keep secret, to advocate, to decide. Institutions that build that judgment convert the AI revolution into capacity. Institutions that buy it convert it into dependence.

Who we serve
  • The Company — when every rival sees the same board, the edge is not seeing. It is choosing where to play, and owning the bet.

  • The University — the question was never “is it patentable?” It is “is it commercializable?” — and that judgment is coming back in-house.

  • The Patent Office — machines absorb the volume of examination. Only humans supply its authority.

  • The Defence Establishment — the one IP function that cannot be outsourced, because asking for help is disclosure.

  • The Legal Establishment — a system increasingly of machines still terminates in two humans: one who must be believed, one who must decide.

Where does your institution stand?
Dependence → Assisted execution → In-house judgment → Self-reliance.

Every engagement begins by locating you on this curve — and ends with a plan to move you along it. Capacity is built, not bought.

Two books for building capacity in Indian patent law
  • Handbook on Patent Law (2026 Edition · ebook) — the Patents Act and Rules, current and readable: the working professional’s reference.

  • Ali on Patents (2026 Edition · paperback) — the treatise, twenty years on. In print — and alive at www.aop.onl, where its updates and case pages live between editions. Two sides of the same coin.

1,40,000+ enrolled · 24,000+ certified · 4 national courses · Since 2016
"Dr. Feroz Ali’s teaching- and mentoring- skills are above par and cannot be overstated. The Almighty has specially gifted him (among other things) with the art of delivering and driving home the broad and the nuanced aspects of a given subject both succinctly and clearly, which are easy to understand and recall – not just for the PA Exam, but also when doubts arise during everyday Patent Agent practice. I was fortunate to have been mentored and taught by him. And I wish the best for him in all his endeavours – material and spiritual."
